Setting The Record Straight
Election time is always full of chaos and this year is no different, except that I’ve somehow gotten dragged into the plot. I’ve remained silent about this subject for three and a half years, but what I won’t do is sit back while Stel Bailey resurrects that false narrative for a second time simply for her own personal political gain.
No, ma'am.
So here is my unadulterated account of having to take Stel Bailey to court for stalking.
This is information (timeline, screenshots, receipts), not a discussion, and isn’t subject to debate. Do with this what you will.
But this time, I'm the one who's not backing down.
WHETHER SHE LIKES IT OR NOT, I WAS GRANTED A RESTRAINING ORDER FOR STALKING AGAINST ERINA CHRISTEL BAILEY ON 3/30/2023 AND A CONTINUANCE ON 4/10/2023
AND WHILE SHE SAYS THIS ISN'T HER, HERE ARE DOCUMENTS SPECIFICALLY ACKNOWLEDGING "CHRISTEL BAILEY" AS THE DEFENDANT
BUT BEFORE WE BEGIN...
Let's look at what Stel did 6 years ago (and documented herself!)
Stel Bailey followed my husband to a local establishment after a city council meeting, positioned herself behind a partition where he couldn’t see her, proceeded to have her friend take pictures with him in the background, then discussed it on social media.
IF NOT STALKER, WHY STALKER SHAPED?
AND SHE CONTINUED THIS BEHAVIOR...
...but this time, it was at my job.
Stel Bailey conspired with Stan Johnston, a member of the YMCA where I was employed, to file a complaint against me on her behalf. What she didn’t anticipate was that Stan was ignorant about the ins and outs of email, and that his forwarding of her email would reveal not just the attachments, but the original sender and their message to him.
And that sender was Stel Bailey.
Surprise, surprise.
But Stel Bailey's efforts were in vain
Stan used an incident that occurred 6 months prior (right before the 2022 election as he was running for city council) when he came into my group exercise class, began to scream at JoLynn Nelson about her not answering his emails, and I had to make him leave the room. Nothing came of this claim except for executive leadership advising him he wasn't allowed to verbally abuse members OR interrupt a class for any reason.
And that was the end of that-- until Stel Bailey tried to use his membership at the Y to libel and slander my name in the guise of her "water advocacy."
Again, 6 months after the actual incident where Stan Johnston was reprimanded for HIS behavior.
What a joke.
STEL BAILEY DID THIS AGAIN RECENTLY
This time, it was against Regina Vazquez
When Regina Vazquez spoke out against Stel Bailey on her personal Facebook page, Stel Bailey filed a professional ethics complaint against Regina’s realtor’s license, all because Regina disagreed with Stel on social media.
Truly, how thin-skinned can one person be?
And what a damning pattern of behavior on the part of Stel Bailey?
How is she supposed to represent "the people" if she's too busy filing professional complaints against anyone who dares to personally contradict her opinion on social media?
Stel Bailey is unfit for public office, indeed.
Her actions speak louder than her bombast.
LET'S BE CLEAR
I DID have a restraining order for stalking against Stel Bailey
AND it was upheld AFTER court when both sides presented all the facts. It was not an open and shut case, thus the continuance for judgment.
Stel Bailey can negate these facts all she wants, but the proof has already been shown at the top of this website.
TIME TO DIG IN
But first, a little preface
This whole thing started in March 2021 on The Talk of Titusville Facebook page, when I disagreed with Stel Bailey on the subject of parking meters in Parrish Park. I thought she was just some idiot on the internet trying to fear monger for no reason.
Turns out, I wasn't far from the truth.
But she took my comments, repurposed them as if they were in regard to her water "advocacy", and continued to libel me for the next 2 years.
But don't take my word for it. Here's what the judge said in her final ruling.
TWO YEARS TOO LONG
Time to call the lawyer
One thing is for sure-- My husband was against me taking Stel Bailey to court from the very beginning, which was probably a full year before I actually did.
He said she was just looking for attention, and the validity our last name on my court case would give her would just be red meat for her base. True dat.
SIDEBAR: He can always see through the bullshit and that’s why we’ve been together for 27 years—we don’t suffer fools.
THE FIRST ATTORNEY'S OPINION
Back to August 2022
After a year of Stel Bailey continuing her online attacks against me & my husband In her usual and self described manner—relentless—, I'd had quite enough. So to the lawyer I went.
Long story short, he said since I couldn't prove fiscal damages (the highest bar of this claim) and my husband was still employed with the City, I was a "quasi-city employee" (what?!) and he wouldn't recommend going to court.
In his words, "It would likely just embolden her."
Time would tell that he couldn't have been more accurate.
THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMEL'S BACK
Side note: I'm the camel
I bit my tongue for the next year. I'm surprised I can even speak after such self-restraint.
But true to form, Stel Bailey continued to disparage us even AFTER my husband left the City. That was simply a bridge too far for me.
And he didn’t leave the City “in curious circumstances”, as Stel Bailey would have you believe. He wanted to be more a part of the science and chemistry that goes into water systems, not the head that wore the crown, as he had for many years. And when he got the opportunity to be back in the trenches, so to speak, he took it.
He *DOES* have a chemical engineering degree from Auburn and is a licensed Professional Engineer in not one, but two states. So his detractors can suck it. (My personal sentiments, not his.)
Sean is so happy and successful in his new career, which no social media agitator can take away from him, despite Stel Bailey's own personal vendetta because he asked for a public records fee in 2019, which is what I believe this all boils down to.
What a petty way for her to live life.
And she's proven herself to do this same thing to many people over, and over, and over, and over again. Just look at all her Facebook pages for the receipts. They're not difficult to find.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Heading to the Clerk of Courts
No matter what the previous lawyer said, or the fact that I didn't currently have an attorney, I went to the Clerk of Courts to file a request for a restraining order anyway.
There is a specific box you have to check as to whether or not you want to see the judge if your restraining order isn't granted.
I checked the box to go to court no matter what because I wanted Stel Bailey to have to answer for her behavior in a court of law, regardless of the legal precursors.
Again, enough was enough.
COURT PROCEEDINGS
It's always a toss-up
You never know what the judge is going to decide in a case like this. It's just how much the lawyers are able to tip the scales.
I felt my legal representation left several cards unplayed at the hearing, and I told him as much afterward.
I’m not ashamed to say I was out-lawyered that day because Stel did have an amazing attorney.
But do you know who else had an amazing attorney?
OJ Simpson.
FINAL THOUGHTS
She certainly shut up, didn't she?
I considered the outcome a personal win because I got what I wanted from the case—for Stel Bailey to stop posting about me and move on to greener pastures.
And she did; shifting from water “advocacy” to the libeling of everyone in the Titusville political scene.
Stel Bailey did begin to mention my husband after a bit of time, but he couldn't care less because he accurately thinks her a fool.
Of course she now needs some political fodder to prop up her campaign, so she has begun to recycle this false narrative regarding this case and both our names.
BUT LET'S BE VERY CLEAR
There is only ONE Stauffer name on the court documents— MINE.
And there is absolutely NOTHING in the judge’s final ruling that references Stel Bailey speaking at a city council meeting or requesting public records or anything else that she falsely claims about my husband and this case.
It was ME. Only me. Allison Stauffer.
I FULLY EXPECT HER TO LAUNCH AN ATTACK CAMPAIGN BECAUSE THAT'S JUST WHAT SHE DOES.
